When setting up your client portal on Hubflo, you may come across two domain options: a custom domain and a Hubflo subdomain.
Choose a Custom Domain if:
Already have a website and want full control over your branding.
Stick with a Subdomain if:
You want to get started fast with a simple, no-cost setup.
A Hubflo subdomain is a free domain that uses Hubflo’s domain structure and is automatically assigned when you create your workspace.
Example:
👉 mycompany.hubflo.com
You can update the Hubflo Subdomain under Settings > General settings/Domain.

A custom domain is a web address that you own and manage, usually purchased from a domain registrar like GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or Namecheap.
Example:
👉 portal.mycompany.com
A registered custom domain (e.g. yourdomain.com)
An active Hubflo subdomain (e.g. yourcompany.hubflo.com)
Access to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
Hubflo Plus Plan
In Hubflo, go to Settings → General Settings/Domain
Click Edit domain
Enter your custom domain (e.g. portal.yourdomain.com) in the Custom domain field and click Next
Go to your domain provider (e.g. GoDaddy, Namecheap)
Add the following DNS record to your domain registrar to complete the setup:
Type | Host / Name | Value / Target | Status |
CNAME | portal | portal.hubflo.com | 🟠 Action required |
Host / Name: portal (or client, app, space depending on your preferred subdomain)
Value / Target: portal.hubflo.com
⚠️ Important:
Do not change the Value / Target— it must be portal.hubflo.com.
Once added, return to this screen and click Validate

You can revisit this page at any time to check your domain’s connection status.
🕒 Note:
Most updates go live in 10–15 minutes
In some cases, DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours
Check out step-by-step guides for:
Try refreshing the connection:
Go to Settings → General Settings/Domain
Click Cancel request, then click Save
Re-add your domain and click Validate
This restarts the domain verification process and helps if the CNAME was previously incorrect.
⏱️ Changes typically apply in 15 minutes, but DNS updates can take longer.
Double-check the following:
You’ve added a CNAME record, not an A record
The Name/Host is set correctly (e.g. portal)
The Target/Value is exactly: portal.hubflo.com
💬 Still having trouble?
Send [email protected] a screenshot of your DNS settings and your domain name — we’ll investigate!
What happens if I disconnect my custom domain?
Your portal will no longer work on your custom domain. Clients must use your Hubflo subdomain instead.
Can I switch to a different custom domain?
Yes. But your old domain won’t automatically redirect to the new one.
We recommend using a tool like Redirect.pizza for manual redirection.
Does Hubflo host my domain?
No. You keep managing your domain with your domain provider.
Hubflo hosts your Client Portal and connects to your domain using a CNAME record pointing to portal.hubflo.com.
Will my Hubflo subdomain still work after I add a custom domain?
Yes — both URLs will stay live. There’s no automatic redirect between them, so your clients can access either one.
