With Hubflo's Twilio integration, you can send clients real-time SMS notifications from your own Twilio number—right from the Messaging app. It’s a great way to make sure your messages are seen, especially if your client hasn’t logged into the portal recently. Messages are also delivered by email, so you're always covered.

What you’ll need:

  • A Twilio account (free or paid)

  • Your Twilio Account SID, Auth Token, and Phone Number

  • A Hubflo PLUS plan

  1. To get started, go to your Twilio Console and copy the following:

    1. Account SID

    2. Auth Token

    3. Phone Number

  2. In Hubflo, go to Settings ⚙️ > General / Domain and paste in your Twilio details:

    1. Twilio Account SID

    2. Twilio Auth Token

    3. Twilio Phone Number

That’s it—you're connected!

Note: SMS notifications only work if your client has a valid phone number saved in their profile. You can check and update this under Client Portal > Clients.

How SMS notifications work

When does a client get an SMS?

  • If they haven’t read your message in the portal within 10 minutes, they’ll get an SMS.

  • If they read it in time, no SMS is sent (to avoid redundancy).

What if I send multiple messages?

  • Only one SMS is sent to notify them of unread messages (to prevent spamming).

What’s in the SMS?

  • A short notification with a link to the chatroom.

  • If they aren’t logged in, they’ll be asked to sign in to view the message.

Do clients still get email notifications?
Yes! Email reminders are sent every 30 minutes if there are unread messages, regardless of SMS delivery.
